The world in which we live presents a seemingly, never-ending listing of challenges – from the somewhat mundane tasks of daily living to the catastrophic disasters sometimes dominating world headlines. This listing includes war, disease, politics, famines, terrorism, physical illness, financial pressures, mental illness, stress, jobs, etc.
The world also presents an endless array of remedies for each of these challenges. Unfortunately, these remedies are at best temporary and only serve as a bridge to the next challenge. In the end analysis, the legacy of living leads to an inevitable end of life. The author of the Book of Hebrews says:
27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, Hebrews 9:27 (NKJV)
But the author continues and offers a way of salvation and eternal life.
28 so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. Hebrews 9:28 (NKJV)
